After a lifetime's interest in politics she finally did something about it and was elected in 2009 to represent the Arrow Valley West division in Redditch!
Her passion is education and she has worked hard to improve the standards of education in Redditch and across the county when she was appointed Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education and Skills in May 2011 until May 2013. She also chaired the Local Children's Partnership in Redditch.
She is a governor at St George's First School and Tudor Grange Academy Redditch. Her interest in helping other governors to flourish led her to become a founder member of the Worcestershire Governors Network. She was also instrumental in organising the Inspired to Work careers events for children as young as eight and which is attended by 1400 children from Redditch schools each year.
Jane is 64 and has lived in Redditch with her husband for 16 years. After a 30-year career in marketing, she was keen to make a positive contribution to the community by ensuring that the residents of Redditch obtain maximum value for their taxes and is now a Redditch Borough Councillor for Astwood Bank and Feckenham.
In order to relax Jane enjoys walking, watercolour painting, gardening. She is also a member of the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
