A total of £13.8 million in Conservative Government funding has been secured so far this year which will directly benefit Redditch and the Villages.

This builds on Rachel Maclean MP's track record of securing investment which will improve the lives of local residents, having helped to secure £19.8 million of Government funding in 2023.

So far this year, £13.8 million in Government funding will benefit Redditch and the Villages, this includes:

  • £6,239 to support projects at Feckenham Football Club and Kingfisher Youth FC
  • £205,000 to support swimming facilities at the Abbey Stadium
  • £5 million to level up arts and culture in Redditch
  • £402,039 for the local NHS to support adult social care innovation
  • £8,284,205 to increase SEND school places in Worcestershire

Since Rachel was first elected in 2017, significant investment has been secured. In 2021 Redditch was awarded a £15.6 million to regenerate the town centre, which is underway. This funding was one of the single largest Government investments in Redditch since it was designated a new town in the 1960s.

As well as that, the Alexandra Hospital has seen huge investment too. This includes the £18.8 million operating theatre complex, a Breast Imaging Unit, state-of-the-art robot-assisted surgery, the return of the Garden Suite Chemotherapy Unit and funding for a £3.9 million expansion of endoscopy services.

Rachel said: “Results like this don’t just happen. You deliver results like this by consistently speaking up for your constituency and lobbying the Government on behalf of those who you represent in Parliament.

“I’ve always been about delivering results for my constituents, and I hope I’ve demonstrated a proven track record of doing just that.

“The funding secured so far this year doesn’t include the many other ways the Government is supporting my constituents, whether that’s through tax cuts worth £900 for the average worker, a £900 rise in the state pension, increasing the National Living Wage to £11.44 an hour and beginning the rollout of the largest ever expansion of free childcare.”
