Conservative Councillors attended the Armed Forces Day flag-raising ceremony at Redditch Town Hall.
Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Matt Dormer, said:
"Yesterday, I was honoured to join veterans, serving members of our Armed Forces, standard bearers, the Mayor and fellow councillors outside Redditch Town Hall as we marked the start of Armed Forces Week.
"Armed Forces Week gives us the opportunity to recognise the courage, professionalism and sacrifice of those who serve our country, those who have served before them, and the families who stand beside them.
"As a former retained firefighter, I have always had the utmost respect for those who dedicate their lives to public service. The commitment shown by our Armed Forces deserves our gratitude not just this week, but every day of the year.
"Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s flag-raising ceremony, and to all those who continue to support our Armed Forces community here in Redditch.
"I hope as many people as possible will show their support ahead of Armed Forces Day this Saturday."
