Redditch and the Village's Labour MP Chris Bloore has voted to cover up Keir Starmer's Mandelson scandal.
To save his own skin, Keir Starmer threatened his MPs with the loss of their jobs unless they helped cover up his misleading statements to Parliament. It is a disgrace that 333 Labour MPs chose to be complicit in that cover up.
333 Labour MPs chose to prop up this government that is falling apart at the seams rather than put the country first. This is the day that people saw they believe there’s one rule for Labour and another for everyone else.
Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Darren Jones, refused to repeat Keir Starmer’s claims that there ‘was no pressure whatsoever’ placed on the Foreign Office by No10. His effort to instead ‘clarify’ what the Prime Minister had said was damning.
Nigel Farage let Keir Starmer off the hook by failing to vote for the Conservatives' motion. It is clear that the Conservatives are the only party holding Labour to account and that is why the country needs Kemi Badenoch’s Conservatives.
Following the vote, Redditch Conservatives said:
"The Redditch Conservatives are appalled to learn that our Labour MP, Chris Bloore, voted against the Conservative motion to refer Keir Starmer to the privileges committee.
:Despite clear evidence that the Prime Minister misled Parliament regarding the appointment process of Peter Mandelson, Chris Bloore MP voted against the motion to hold the PM to account.
"While the Conservatives stood firm on the principle that no one is above the rules. Chris Bloore chose to prioritise party whipped lines over the standards of transparency he promised to uphold during his election campaign.
"Our country is facing significant economic challenges and global instability. We need a government focused on the British people, not one plagued by internal scandals and hypocrisy.
"Chris Bloore had the chance to do the right thing and put party politics aside. He failed. Redditch deserves better."
