Party members based in Redditch last night voted to established a new branch of the Conservative Women’s Organisation, which will be an integral part of Redditch County Conservative Association going forwards.
All local members – regardless of gender – were invited to attend a General Meeting held over Zoom in which the first officer team was proposed for the year ahead. The organisation, as elected by local members, will be managed by:
- Ann Isherwood (Chair)
- Joanne Beecham (Deputy Chair Membership & Finance)
- Joanne Monk (Deputy Chair Political)
- Gemma Monaco (Treasurer)
Speaking at the meeting, Ann thanked everyone for attending and paid tribute to the people who had helped her establish the committee of the Association, which has been in the making for around a year due to delays because of COVID-19 and the snap general election at the end of last year. Despite these challenges the committee, in its acting form, held over twelve events and meetings.
“Women need the support and encouragement of other women when they come into politics, and the Redditch branch will offer that to any woman who wishes to join us here and help us make Redditch an even better place for us all.”
Redditch CWO is open to all members of Redditch County Conservative Association who wish to get involved. Members just need to email firstname.lastname@example.org to express their interest and are encouraged to join the Conservative Women’s Organisation nationally too at https://conservativewomen.uk/. There is no additional cost to join the Conservative Women’s Organisation either nationally or locally, though donations are gratefully received to support the work of the new committee here in Redditch.
